KUALA LUMPUR, 21 Dis - General Sommai Kaotira, The Royal Thailand Armed Forces (RTAF) Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) called upon the Malaysian CDF YBhg General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Hj Zulkifeli bin Mohd Zin on his first official visit after taking up the post as CDF in 1 October 2105.  The Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) felt honoured to host General Sommai Kaotira as MAF was the first destination picked by General Sommai.

General Sommai's arrival at the Ministry of Defence was well received by the Malaysian CDF, Chief of Army, Deputy Chief of Navy and Deputy Chief of Air Force.  He then returned the salute and inspected the line presented by the MAF Guard of Honour from the 1st Royal Malay Regiment headed by Major Azrul bin Yahya.  General Sommai also took the opportunity to call upon the Deputy Defence Minister, YB Dato' Wira Mohd Johari bin Baharum before leaving the Defence Ministry.

The official visit has indeed marked the continuous bilateral and comradeship that was long established between the two armed forces.  A brief but fruitful discussion involving both military senior officers took place at Ruang Perkasa and wrapped up with exchanges of mementoes.

General Sommai was then accompanied by the Malaysian CDF to call upon the Deputy Defence Minister.
