KUALA LUMPUR, 14 Sept-The 32nd MALTHAI High Level Committee (HLC) was held at the Malaysian Armed Forces Officers Mess Kuala Lumpur today.
The committee holds its meeting twice yearly altenately in Malaysia and Thailand. The meeting held today was co-chaired by the Malaysian Chief of Defence Force (CDF) dan the Thailand Chief of Defence Forces of the Royal Thai Armed Forces. Senior Officers from both nation were also present and the meeting was conducted in the highest spirit of bilateral cooperation.
The main objective of the HLC Meeting was to deliberate on matters of mutual intersts border management along the Malaysia-Thai boundary. On deliberation, the meeting expressed great satisfaction on the significant progress of activities conducted by the HLC during the period under review.
The focus of the 32nd HLC Meeting was to address the requirements of establishing a new concept of Border Co-Management that would eventually be adapted by both nations on the day to day management of the Malaysia-Thailand border.
Thailand will host the next 33rd HLC Meeting sometime in April 2016. Before leaving for home, the Thailand CDF took the opportunity to call upon the Malaysian Prime Minister
