The Malaysian Chief of Defence Force (CDF), General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Haji Zulkifeli bin Mohd Zin, took the initiative to be with our troops, MALBATT 850-2, over the Eid Fitri celebration in Lebanon. Leaving behind loved ones and not being able to celebrate the Eid Fitri celebration did not deter our troops to in shouldering the mandate given under the United Nations (UN) Charter.
Service before self - has always been instilled into our men and given its priority in ensuring peace locally and world wide. This goes without saying for our troops, MALBATT 850-2, led by Colonel Khaswadi bin Lahuri.
In ensuring the troops not missing the usual activites during the Eid Fitri celebration at home, the Malaysian CDF accompanied by the Malaysian Joint Force Commander and several Senior Officers travelled to Lebanon, leaving their loved ones to join our troops in preparing the Eid Fitri celebration at the di UNP 2-1 Camp Ma’rakah, South Lebanon. His Excellency Mr Balachandran Tharman, the Malaysian Ambassador to Lebanon was also present to celebrate the occasion.
